Reel Change
Today we had a workshop with a company called REEL CHANGE. With them we were given the theme "I London". From that we thought about crime in London, constant surveillance in London and identity. Our film production was called "I Surveillance". This idea arose from a discussion amongst the 6 of us in a group where we spoke about the use of CCTV cameras and their significance, the fact that we are constantly tracked by the use of our essential oyster cards and mobile phones and well as the idea of when your wallet/purse is lost, so is your identity. The workshop itself was useful for those who had no mobile phone making experience as it opened their eyes to new means of technology especially the innovation of the mobile phone.

Meeting at SOWF
Today was our second meeting with SOWF. During this meeting we met 3 other Street Geniuses from the IWM, BFI and SBEG. They are all lovely, interesting people and it was interesting to hear what they have planned for this busy summer. As a collective we discussed our views on the up coming Olympics and how we can communicate the arts during 2012. This led to a conversation about the Cultural Olympiad which is to be launch on the weekend which takes place on the 26-28th September. What is the Cultural Olympiad? This Launch is a festival which has the purpose of officially creating an area called the Cultural Quarter. What is the Cultural Quarter? The Cultural Quarter is a collaboration of 24 organisations which all situated in South London. For example Southwark Playhouse, The Young Vic, The Tate Modern and Rambert Dance.

Caroline at B3
Met Caroline from B3 today! Ardilson: Met Caroline at 9.30 in the morning which was ridiculously early for me. Got into ST Marks in the waiting area where I meet the Young Vic then later on Caroline turn up, she then took out the video camera and explained to me what my task for today was Caroline had asked me to film the year 3 students of ST Marks performing the three little pig. I really enjoyed filming as I got to do everything myself, it was a great experience and I would like to try it again. Jade: Met Caroline and some directors form the Young Vic at St Saviours St Olives Secondary School on the Old Kent Road. We met a group of young girls who were rehearsing a short play about giants. Caroline taught me how to use a camera and I used this lesson film live footage of the teens rehearing. This was fun and interesting as it was nice to see what young teens were going as well as developing a new skill of filming.

Coming up with a theme
Today was a typical day at the office! We scheduled meetings with B3 Media, John (film maker/ actor) and Ryan (graphics designer). We scheduled our own time tables of when we can work and attend meetings ourselves. Most importantly we mind mapped ideas about the competition. We came up with the Theme "REWRITE" and set aside targets for when we want everything to be completed such as the creation of our logo, leaflet and website. We also opened up 2 facebook accounts.
